Logic 8 Workshop
January 17th, 2008
Cherry Beach School of Music is now offering a day-long course focusing on the use of the new Logic Pro. This vast suite of music production software is used by many of today's industry leaders: Herbie Hancock, T-Pain, Paul Van Dyk, Kanye West and Marcus Dravs. A multitude of award-winning and memorable albums have been recorded with Logic Pro such as: Arcade Fire's Neon Bible, Coldplay's Viva la Vida, Bjork's Homogenic, and Snow Patrol's Eyes Open. The day will be spent in Cherry Beach Sound, Canada's strongest recording facility. This year, we have had the honor of producing more radio hits, platinum albums, and international billboard listings than any other studio in Canada..
Your classroom will be in our world-class Control Room A. Designed by the renowned Martin Pilchner, this space was created for absolute acoustical isolation and an ideal balanced mixing environment. This room is truly a Canadian one-of-a-kind as it is the only studio in the country to have soffit-mounted Genelec surround monitors. This wonderful setting allows for an intimate and personal class of approximately twelve to fifteen students. Course duration will run from nine to five on Saturday, January 17th with a cost of $250 plus GST. Your day will be fully catered, courtesy of Cherry Beach Sound. For those attendees travelling notable distances, we will be happy to assist you in booking nearby accommodations.
The course will focus on the process of creating and capturing music with Logic Pro. An opportunity to gain valuable insight into the recording and editing of both audio and midi will be provided to students. Logic Pro possesses a large range of software instruments and Apple Loops that will be explored throughout the duration of the course.
Students will have the opportunity to ask any questions they may have regarding Logic Pro within the intimate classroom setting. The knowledge that will be taken away from this course will be paired with professional experience in a real-world studio scenario.
